Endurance Swimmer, Diana Nyad is attempting to swim from Florida to Cuba, She is 62 years old and has attempted this feat 3 different times, once when she was 28 years old.
“Diana recovered from the multiple Portuguese Man O’ War stings enough to swim — but she is struggling right now. Her usual stroke pace, between 52 and 55 strokes per minute, has dropped to 48, but she is able to swim.”
Nyad suffered stings on both arms, her face and her side. She later complained of breathing problems, and two doctors gave her a steroid shot, oxygen and other medicine".(Santarelli,2011)

i dont think i can do it because thats too long of a swim. Also because of the animals that live in the ocean. i am terrified of sharks and jelly fish and everything else that lives in the ocean. i would also get tired of swimming.
ReplyDeleteI Think she is to old to do that and her health condition is not as good as it was before.And since she got stung the would make the chances less likely to happen.
ReplyDeleteNO,I really dont like swimming and if I did I would die.The medicine shot wouldnt work for me.Bye time they get to me I will be died.

ReplyDeleteuh let me think about it....NO.!!! she is too old to be swimming hundreds of miles, and she is in bad condition. i understand she doesn't want to give up but she has a lot of faith in herself though and that's real cool

ReplyDeleteI mean she had alot of determination and dedication to do something like that. I don't think I woulf have ever been able to do something like that. I don't have the focus to do a task like that.
